Jesus Christ's Ministry .... To Whom?

‘Mid-Acts-hyper-dispensationalists’ often use Rom 15:8 with Rom 15:16,
to make a contrast between Jesus’ ministry to Israel and
Paul’s ministry to the Gentiles:

Rom 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Rom 15:16 That I (Paul) should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

However, ‘mid-Acts-ers’ do not want to use the context following Rom 15:8. The sentence does not end with verse 8, but it continues by showing several OLD testament scripture references about Gentiles trusting in the Lord, fulfilled by Jesus Christ’s ministry.

Rom 15:8-12 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: (Psa 98:2,3; Mic 7:20)
9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy;
as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name. (2 Sam 22:50, Psa 18:49)
10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. (Deut 32:43)
11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. (Psa 117:1)
12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. (Isa 49:6)

Jesus Christ came to Israel, just like the prophets said He would ....
but they rejected Him (Mark 8:31) ....
so Gentiles were brought into faith in Him, just like the prophets said they would be!

This is David Dowell, saying, "Think about it!"
