Paul told king Agrippa first about his commission from the chief priests to arrest the disciples of Jesus Christ .... and then he told him about commission from Jesus Christ:
Acts 26:12-18 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their (the Gentiles’) eyes,
and to turn them (the Gentiles) from darkness to light,
and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they (the Gentiles) may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
The Lord Jesus already had disciples who were sanctified by faith in Him. They were the very people Saul had been persecuting and jailing (Acts 8:3, 26:10; Gal 1:13,23; 1 Cor 15:9). In Acts 9, Christ gave the instructions to Saul, who was later called Paul (Acts 13:9), to offer the Gentiles inheritance among His saints:
Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
The Gentiles are no longer ‘servants’ .... but ‘sons’ .... ‘children of God’ .... and as such, ‘heirs’ through the new testament WITH Israel who were the children of God under the old testament:
Gal 4:1-7 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Proverbs showed this same principal:
Prov 17:2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.
Paul taught the same truth to the saints at Rome:
Rom 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit,
that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;
if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Our inheritance, just as Israel’s, is not through the old testament law .... but by promise:
Gal 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise:
but God gave it to Abraham by promise. (also see Gal 3:8)
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Rom 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
Gal 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we Gentiles share as partakers with ALL God’s saints in His kingdom:
Col 1:12-13 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet (fit, able) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
God accepts us Gentiles, as one bread and one body, with Israel and with Christ, the bread of life (John 6:33, 35, 48, 51):
1 Cor 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body:
for we are all partakers of that one bread.
That was the mystery of Christ .... that we now understand:
Eph 3:4-6 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs,
and of the same body,
and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
All we believers have a promised, sure inheritance waiting in heaven for us:
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Do you have saving faith to receive an inheritance at the end?
