I thought the speaker wanted to jump the Phil 3:3 hurdle because it says, "We are the circumcision," so he could coast on through the rest of his message. He seemed to choose his words very carefully:
Phil 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Of course, we know this is a spiritual circumcision of the heart and not a physical one. Yes, it gives us an identity, all right! It tells us who we are in Christ. Physical Israel WAS the circumcision in the OLD testament .... but now in the NEW testament, of which we are able ministers (2 Cor 3:6), WE are the circumcision. It is from God through the apostle Paul to the Gentiles. There is no getting around it! The outer has been REPLACED by the inner.
God said what He meant, and He meant what He said, right? Right!
